I hope you are all doing fine

I am pleading everyone to please say a little prayer
for my countrymen... most of us are still in shock with what occurred last Saturday. I live in one of the affected areas but somehow i still thank god that all we've lost are our material things there are those who lost their loved ones to the flood...

this event changed my life... it made me a better person... a little less selfish ... a little more considerate.

at first I was so mad and blamed almost everyone why this happened but when i saw the news on what became of other places in manila i felt really ashamed because there i was complaining that i lost my collections and books while others were stripped of all they have and some even lost their families.

Just to share with you my personal struggle last Saturday...I thought i was going to die then but somehow I felt so ready of whatever fate might bring.

me and my two siblings had to brave the swirling floodwaters that reached up to our necks...funny i cannot think about myself then... all i want to do is to get us all to safety... the next thing i knew was that we were walking in the rain without any slippers on and that we were only able to bring few clothes but it didn't really matter.

that night even when we found shelter... we still cannot
feel the tiredness ... we just want to stay up.

I know my people will make it through... if there is one thing that made me proud that i am filipino is our ability to find a reason to continue living and fighting even in the darkest circumstances.

here are some photos of what happened in the philippines last saturday.
